2001
Establishment of SECT
Sengunthar Engineering College was established with the vision of providing quality technical education and empowering rural students through excellence in engineering education.
2003
Expansion of Academic Programmes
The institution expanded its academic offerings with multiple undergraduate engineering programmes and strengthened its laboratory infrastructure and learning facilities.
2008
Industry Collaboration & Training
SECT initiated industry collaborations, industrial visits, workshops, symposiums, and training programmes to bridge the gap between academics and industry expectations.
2012
Research & Development Growth
The college strengthened its focus on research activities, technical innovation, faculty development, and funded projects across various engineering disciplines.
2018
Modern Infrastructure Development
Advanced laboratories, digital library resources, smart classrooms, sports facilities, and student support systems were further enhanced across the campus.
2021
Autonomous Institution Status
Sengunthar Engineering College attained Autonomous status, enabling the institution to introduce industry-oriented curriculum and innovative academic practices.
2024
Innovation & Future Technologies
SECT expanded its focus towards emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cyber Security, and industry-ready skill development initiatives.
